About Me
It seems I’m at that stage in life where I’ve mastered the art of faffing—spending busy days with little to show for it. If faffing were a degree, I’d have multiple qualifications framed on the wall. Alongside this, I have a talent for hoarding things that “might be useful one day,” though they rarely are—except for the one time you finally throw something out after ten years and immediately need it. When I’m not faffing or hoarding, I dedicate my time to painting, a passion that has been with me since childhood.
My love for painting began at the age of three in a Birmingham playgroup, where I was instantly drawn to the easel, tubs of paint, and large sheets of paper. Growing up in a close-knit community, I spent my days exploring my Gramp’s allotment, which instilled in me a lifelong love of gardening. This deep connection to nature frequently inspires my artwork, leading me to paint flowers, gardens, and wildlife. Although I moved to Wales as a teenager and had to complete my A-Level Art in just one year, I never lost my passion. Rather than attending college, I chose to work and teach myself various painting techniques, continuously learning through practice and experimentation.
Over the years, I have sold paintings to people worldwide, painting whatever inspires me on a given day—from dramatic castles and mythical creatures to delicate watercolour flowers and street scenes. My work is diverse, and I enjoy the freedom of variety, though I tend to avoid portraits. A recurring character, Mavis, often appears in my paintings, wandering through old-fashioned streets with her black cat, much to the delight of exhibition visitors. I believe that art is an ever-evolving journey, and who knows where my brushes will take me next? If you’d like a custom piece, I’d love to hear from you!

Commissions
Here are some examples of my commissioned work over the past years.
If you would like a bespoke painting please get in touch. I’d love to bring your vision to life if I can.
For pet portraits or personal subjects, I’ll need 4 to 6 high-quality reference photos. Clear, well-lit images are essential for accuracy, so please avoid distant shots or heavily shadowed pictures (yes, I’ve received photos of pets hidden under blankets where you cant see the colours or the legs!). Keep in mind that lighting can affect colours—if your black dog appears ginger in the photo, that’s how it will be painted! The finer details, especially the eyes, are crucial in capturing the character of an animal, so try to provide at least one close-up where they’re looking at the camera. For landscapes, floral arrangements, or other subjects, reference photos may not be necessary, as I can always research and find reference material, unless it is of a specific garden or place, then do send images.
Once we’ve discussed the details, you can choose the size and medium (watercolour or acrylic), and we’ll agree on a price. A goodwill deposit is required via bank transfer or PayPal, and from there, you can leave it in my hands. I’ll keep you updated on the progress, ensuring your custom artwork is, to my ability, exactly what you envision. The balance will then need to be paid in full before the painting is shipped to you.
