Commissioned Paintings.

My paintings make a unique gift for any occasion, as well as being a collectable work of art for your own wall.

Do you have any events coming up this year, that you would like to buy a special gift for? Have you ever thought of commissioning an original painting? It may not be as expensive as you think, and you can be sure your gift will be unique.

Occasions/subjects to consider could be:
A wedding venue or church, honeymoon location or new home would be an ideal wedding gift.
The street showing a shop where a friend worked for many years, would be a thoughtful retirement gift.
A village where you were born makes a wonderful memory on your wall, or maybe the house you live in and love now.
A road where you lived as a child to provoke nostalgia.
A scene of a favourite pub, where friends spend many happy weekends - all wonderful birthday gifts.
A painting can suit so many occasions, and can be cherished for many, many years.

As a guide, prices for a commissioned painting are similar to those shown for sale on my website, plus mounting and framing if required. The larger, more detailed, and more personalised a painting is, the more it will cost. Also having to visit the location for research, take photographs etc, will have to be included.

Payment - A 50% non-returnable deposit is required when you place your order with the final balance due on completion. I accept payment by pre-arranged instalments if you prefer and the portrait will be despatched when the final payment is made and cleared (please ask for details if you would like to pay this way). Payment can be made by Paypal (worldwide) or UK customers can pay by cheque, postal order or bank transfer in GB pounds. Original Artwork remains the property of Jayne Russell until payment is received in full. Aftercare - If you purchase a Watercolour painting from me unframed, you will need to take it along to your local picture framer who will be able to help with your choice of mount and frame. Watercolour paintings must be framed under glass and mounted (so that the surface of the painting is not in direct contact with the glass) and the back carefully sealed. Your framer will have lots of mouldings for you to choose from, and they will be able to offer advice on things like 'Acid Free' mount board, double mounts and other ideas to enhance and preserve your painting. When you get your portrait home, it is best to hang it out of direct sunlight. After you have chosen a suitable place to hang the painting in your home, please send me a photo, I'd love to see it. Copyright - Please note that I retain full rights, including copyright and reproduction rights, in all my artwork, commissioned or otherwise. This includes paintings completed from photos you have supplied for that purpose. Artwork is commissioned for personal use only and may not be reproduced or used for financial gain without my written permission.
